Information you choose to provide
The contact form asks for your email address, topic and message. You may also provide a name and a related story link. We store this information and the time of submission in a private inbox to review feedback, handle corrections or rights requests, and follow up where needed. Your email and message are not published or added to a marketing mailing list. We do not send these form values to Google Analytics or advertising tags.
Hosting, delivery and security
Cloudflare hosts the site and its database. Serving a page and protecting the site may involve processing request details such as your IP address, browser information, requested URL and time. For contact-form rate limiting, our application stores a short-lived keyed hash rather than the raw IP address. Our hosting provider may process its own technical and security data. Cookies and browser storage
Reading articles does not require a reader account. Your reading theme preference is stored locally in your browser and can be reset by choosing Site default in the Theme menu. The owner's sign-in uses an essential session cookie, and the private editor can keep a local browser backup of drafts. Public reading pages include Google Analytics and Google advertising tags, which can use cookies, pixels or similar identifiers. External fonts and images may cause your browser to contact the provider hosting that resource.
Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand website visits and improve the reading experience. Measurement may include pages viewed, referrers, device/browser details, interactions and approximate location. Google processes data under its own policies. The active contact inbox is restricted to the signed-in owner. Messages can be deleted earlier by the owner and are removed when older than 180 days during contact submission or inbox processing. Expired rate-limit records are also removed during that processing. Hosting backups and provider-held analytics or advertising data follow the providers' settings and retention practices. We use HTTPS and access controls, but no website can guarantee absolute security.
